Well, tonight I played for a loooong time. They decided to start playing at 1700, which is way earlier than they usually start, and for some reason I decided to stay pretty late. The end result was pretty good, but I'm pretty brain-dead/tired, and stink, and can't stop coughing (don't worry, it's not serious... just annoying). I'm happy to say that this is my last time I play here, though I wish I had known about the game longer. Then again, perhaps I wouldn't have been ready for the game any earlier. Who knows?
Tonight I got quad K's, which was cool, and I even got paid for them a little bit, but.. I think my favorite hand was when I had QQ. I was sitting either on the button or the cutoff seat (seat next to the button) with like 4 limpers, so I made it $12 to go. It was folded around to a guy who... re-raised me for $25 on top! The guy that re-raised me was a guy that 'respects' my raises, since I generally only raise on pretty premium stuff, and yet he re-raised me?? It didn't seem right... and ... I folded. Shane (the guy that reraised me, and also the guy that holds the game) told me if I gave him $2 he'd show me his cards, and since it was worth it to me... I threw him the chips, and he flipped over AA, one of the two possible starting hands that could have me drawing virtually dead. It was a proud moment for me. I mean, I've folded QQ preflop before, but... this is the first time in a live game, and QQ is honestly not an amazing amazing hand online, since you see so many hands so quickly. QQ is hard to get live.
Other than that, I misplayed AA early on, and though I had built my stack up to $160 from my starting $40 from a flopped straight with 9-7o, I failed to re-re-raise enough, and gave someone the right odds to call me with his small flush draw to beat me. I ended up buying in for $140 total for the night, which means $40, $40, and then $60 at the end, after I had run my 2nd $40 up to $250 and back down due to a lousy streak of second-best. heh... so! here are the stats:
$1/$2 NL Hold'em
Hours logged for the session: 10
Started the night with: $140
Ended the night with: $633
Plus or minus for the night: +$493
Overall cash bankroll: $1861
Total plus or minus: +$1701
Total hours played: 57
Total per hour average: +$29.8/hour
Well, at this game I made a reasonable amount of money, and I now have a bankroll with which to work and try to make even more money. I need some sleep now, but I wanted to update this stupid thing before I went to sleep. Goodnight. And maybe tomorrow I'll try to find that extra $100 that seems to be off on my calculations between overall cash and total plus and minus...
