Well, tonight I ended up going to play once again at 'the game' I've been going to. I was/am really tired from sleeping about 3 hours last night, and I'm really really convinced it was a bad idea for me to go at all, but I sort of got coerced into going by another guy in my unit. I'm not sure how he was up to it either, we had already gone on half a mission and cleaned our old rooms and moved to the disgusting tents all in one day. But I suppose that sort of thing should be for another blog, since this is supposed to be strictly poker.
I bought in for the normal $40 at the start and quickly doubled up with 8c-9c in the cutoff seat. There were no raises and I called, and the flop came 9s-Qc-2d. One guy who always does really tiny bets when he has a weak hand and wants to define it, bet $3, and after 2 other people called it, I called as well. The next card came as the 3c, which gave me a flush draw with my pair of 9's. The guy apparently liked the 3 because he bet $12, and only one other person called. I called as well, and the next card came as... 6c. I had a flush, and the guy bet $10, I reraised my final $16, and when he called he turned over... Q-3o. Nice for me.
After that, I struggled, I had a million draws that I was getting a GREAT price on, but I never hit one, it was pretty frusterating, and I ended up losing an all-in with A-K on a A-7-2 rainbow board to QQ who spiked a Q on the river. I rebought for $100 (my last money, since I had 'added on' to my stack with a $20 earlier in the night) and right away was awarded TT. A series of raising went on, where I ended up paying about $29 preflop since people kept going all in and doing ridiculous stuff, but I was getting a good price for my hand, when... I spiked a T on the flop. I was pretty excited, and bet $25 in a sidepot, and a guy called. He folded to my all-in of $38 on the turn, and I gladly raked the sidepot. The river came a heart and... the guy who had gone all-in with Ah-5h hit his flush and took in the massive $150+ pot with a donk hand. It frusterated me, but ... I kept trucking. As an interesting sidenote, I ended up losing about $10 on that pot. Actually, not too interesting.
The rest of the night was also frusterating, it seemed like I couldn't get anything going, and my AK's that I got 6 times hit exactly 0 times on the flop. Not a whole lot of action for me, it was basically a grind the whole night and I ended up cashing out at 0130, about 6 hours into the game. I really should have quit a long time sooner. Still, I can't complain about the results, for me being as tired as I was, I'm excited that I was even able to end the night up at all. So, here are the stats for the night:
$1/$2 NL Hold'em
Hours logged for the session: 6
Started the night with: $160
Ended the night with: $228
Plus or minus for the night: +$68
Overall cash bankroll: $1046
Total plus or minus: +$886
Total hours played: 25.5
Total per hour average: +$34.7/hour
Still not too horrible I suppose. Hopefully next time I'll be able to do better next time. Still, my undefeated run has to end sometime, though hopefully it won't be soon. I realize that nobody really reads this, but I'm stoked-ish to read this like, a year from now, haha. Anyways, I love you, whoever IS reading this, you seriously rock.
